Brief: Create a map of the different venues of GSF that was more than a way-finding handout, but a piece of art in itself to act as a memento from the event.
Gaines Street Fest is an annual event with a lineup of artists at different music venues in and around the Gaines Street area in Tallahassee. They also have a vendor section ranging from art, clothing, antiques, and hella tasty vegan deserts. Besides being a vendor for the last 4 years, in 2019 I was the designer behind the illustrated map. I created little personas for each stage, and fleshed it out with streets and parking areas. The little illustrations inspired by some of my favorite places around town are really my heart and soul. I’m all about the “cute but also kind of grungy” style and capturing the vibe of a city.
