I was in a true crime themed art show in Tallahassee and decided to make a piece dedicated to Florida Man, a super hero for us Floridians, who's always breakin' the law and apologizing for nothin'. I took real headlines used to tell the stories of ridiculous crimes committed by people in the Sunshine State, then created an illustration inspired by that headline. I then screen printed and folded it into an accordion book. Through my research, I found that Florida Man is just a character with natural human emotions, and although outlandish and incredibly insane, there's a little bit of FM in all of us. I wouldn't create a book without a bonus, so the back reveals my interpretation of the Florida Man mascot.
